Our town is situated near the capital of the Czech Republic, Prague. There are several historical monuments – a castle , a redoubt, a vicarage….. . There are almost 5 thousand inhabitans there. The town is surrounded by forests and ponds whichbelong in the nature reserve.

You can find our primary school next to the square. It is a historical building but our pupils have got many occasions to use modern methods of learning. There are 421 pupils divided into two levels. The students can use computers and internet(our website: http://zs.hostivice.cz) or many special schoolrooms. They learn foreign languages (English, German or French)

What do our students do in their free time?

They can draw in a drawing course or they can make mugs, plates or pictures in a pottery course. They can attend a club ”Clew” where each Thursday they want to do new things for example: taking photos, swimming in a swimming pool, visitingtheatres or cinemas, playing board games.
Video-club which informs the children about interesting events in our history.

The new school building was opened in our town on 3rd March 2003. At 10:30 a.m. all the pupils and teachers of our school could see the cutting of the "white stripe" where a date and a name of the school were written. The meeting took place at our gymn hall.
